Based in the UK, the Food Foundation's mission is to change food policy and business practices to ensure everyone, across the UK nations, can afford and access a healthy and sustainable diet. They engage with different stakeholders, such as businesses and investors, citizens, policy-makers, civil society organisations and academia.
The project titled "Putting Money on the menu" is aimed at organising the first ever Investors Summit on Food, bringing together the investor-related initiatives and coalitions working across business and government engagement. The summit is used to help investors and civil society to weave these initiatives together and shape a strategy for future investor engagements that is coordinated and complementary, creating outcomes that are greater than the sum of their parts.
The rise in investors’ focus on food is much needed, but a coordinated strategy, at national and global levels, for investors to pull the right levers to really transform the food industry is lacking, which supports the importance of this summit.
